Microsoft’s Android smartphone is already in use by Satya Nadella

Three months ago, Microsoft created the surprise by unveiling the Surface Duo, a smartphone with two screens that runs on Android, at an event dedicated to its devices.

The Redmond-based firm, once a competitor to Google on mobile operating systems, will revive the smartphone market this year, but using Android.

It must be admitted that under the leadership of Satya Nadella, Microsoft finally adopted a more open and pragmatic policy. The firm has been a member of the Linux foundation since 2016 and in 2018, it even released tens of thousands of patents for the benefit of the Open Innovation Network.

The Microsoft Edge browser will switch from EdgeHTML to Chromium, Google’s browser engine. And soon, when the Surface Duo smartphone is available towards the end of the year, Microsoft will be a manufacturer of Android smartphones.

Satya Nadella is already using the Surface Duo

Obviously, the Surface Duo is a very important project for Microsoft since it is even already used by Satya Nadella, the boss of the firm.

Brian Finance Finance reporter Brian Sozzi posted a photo on Sunday of Microsoft CEO using the device.

In November, Satya Nadella already spoke on the Surface Duo. In an interview with Geekwire, he already indicated that he is taking the device everywhere with him.

Otherwise, as a reminder, in addition to the Surface Duo, Microsoft will also launch the Surface Neo, a touch pad with two screens and which runs on Windows 10X, an adapted version of the operating system.
